If you've stumbled this far into my site, you're likely looking for some of my HeroClix 'mods'. Well, you've come to the right place. And I'll try to make sure that you're not disappointed.

A little background history
When I first started playing HeroClix, I was eager to try out all of my favorite comic book characters. The problem was, WizKids hadn't produced all of them yet. And, some of the ones that it had produced were -- well, let's just say that the quality wasn't all that stellar.

So, I decided to make my own.

It started off simply enough: I wanted a Batman that looked more like the Dark Knight of the comics, and less like Adam West on steroids. So, I took out my paintbrushes, whipped out what is really a pretty simple re-paint, and got my first taste of 'modding' HeroClix characters. And I was hooked.

Armed with only the basics of modelling and sculpting knowledge gleaned from a few years experience converting characters for Warhammer, moderate painting skills, and way too much time on my hands, I started to create my own characters.

I gathered up the best pictures of my favorite characters from the internet for inspiration, and then I began carving up my extra figures. I figured out quickly that there were many figures which could contribute parts that whose whole would be far greater than their sum.

Eventually, I'd created most of the Batman family (the characters that inhabit the comics I follow most closely). I then went on to create the Ultimate X-Men team. And then the Ultimates. And on and on. Each time, trying to find an actual drawing of the character that I could use for inspiration.

Ironically, it would seem that WizKids and I look for inspiration in a lot of the same places. You'll notice that a number of my characters are similar to what WizKids eventually created. Some of the characters here are yet to be released by WizKids ... we'll see how close I guess what they would eventually create.

And that bring us here.
This site is the by-product of all of that 'work'. Here, you'll find nearly everything that I've done -- all of my repaints and all of my 'original' creations.

As often as I can (if I can remember what all I used), I'll provide the 'recipes' for how the characters were created so that you can attempt to create your own. So, feel free to surf through the site and see if there's anything you like. If there is, drop me a line and let me know about it.
